Euchre has always been a game built around partnership, strategy, tradition, and community. Today, those qualities are helping take the game to an increasingly global stage. Euchre.com and the World Euchre Federation (WEF) are helping create more opportunities for players to compete, connect, and experience Euchre at a higher level.

1. The World Euchre Championship – May 16th and 17th

At the center of the competitive Euchre landscape is the World Euchre Championship, the flagship event of the World Euchre Federation. The championship brings players together for high-level competition while celebrating the camaraderie and traditions that make Euchre unique. The WEF’s broader mission includes promoting standardized rules, organized tournaments, player development, and the growth of Euchre around the world.

For competitive players, the World Euchre Championship represents an opportunity to test their skills in a structured tournament environment alongside some of the game’s most dedicated players. For the wider Euchre community, it provides a focal point for celebrating the game and introducing new audiences to competitive play.

With over 800 players, the World Euchre Championship was the biggest event ever; and the 2027 event is looking to surpass it. Gif Hoesly and Larry Hauge were crowned the 2026 World Euchre Champions and kept the belt in their hometown of New Glarus, Wisconsin.

The partnership with Euchre.com creates a natural bridge between this established in-person championship environment and the growing world of online Euchre.

2. The Virtual World Euchre Championship – May 22nd, 23rd, and 24th

That connection became especially visible with the 2026 Virtual World Euchre Championship, hosted on Euchre.com in collaboration with the World Euchre Federation. The three-day online championship brought players from around the world together in a competitive, single-elimination pairs format.

The event demonstrated what online competition can add to the Euchre experience. Players did not need to travel to participate in a championship-level event; they could compete from wherever they were, while still experiencing the pressure, excitement, and partnership required in serious tournament play.

The 2026 championship ultimately crowned LeftyKnavey and Llama of the Reddit Euchre League Rockets as champions after an 10–8 final victory over The Euchrazies. LeftyKnavey and Llama walked away from the event with tickets to the 2027 World Euchre Championship in New Glarus, Wisconsin. The event also demonstrated the enthusiasm of the online Euchre community, bringing together competitors and spectators from across the world.

3. Looking Toward the Future

The partnership between Euchre.com and the World Euchre Federation is about more than a single championship. It represents an opportunity to build a stronger connection between online and in-person competitive Euchre.Players can expect more opportunities to participate in officially connected tournaments, special competitions, and invitational events designed to bring even more players into organized competition.

Ultimately, the goal is shared: grow the game, strengthen competitive Euchre, and give players around the world more opportunities to play, compete, and be part of something bigger.
